ITEC launches Kwenda: revolutionizing urban transport in the DRC

ITEC SARLU announces the development of Kwenda, a suite of mobile transport and food delivery applications specifically designed for the Congolese market.

The Kwenda project includes two major applications: Kwenda Taxi, an urban transport platform designed for the Congolese market, and Kwenda Food, a food delivery service connecting restaurants and consumers.

These applications are designed for the realities of the African market, with full integration of mobile payment solutions (M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Orange Money) and an interface optimized for 3G/4G connections.

ITEC's IT & Technology department, led by Mr. Christian Kakenza, uses the most advanced technologies for this development: React Native for mobile apps, NestJS for the backend, and PostgreSQL with PostGIS for geospatial management.

The launch is planned for the second half of 2026, with initial deployment in major cities across the DRC.
